ACCOMPLISHMENTS

• Poised to break ground in 2009 for a modern rail system to meet Oahu’s future transportation needs
• Updating islandwide bicycle master plan
• Acquired 40 new hybrid buses and 20 handi-vans; budget calls for more hybrid purchases in 2009
• Completed transit centers in Mililani and Waianae; Wahiawa and Alapai construction to begin in 2009
• Middle Street Handi-van paratransit headquarters and maintenance facility completed
• Launched TheBoat, a commuter ferry connecting Kalaeloa and Downtown Honolulu
