Mufi Hannemann Opens Kona HQ

“Big Island for Mufi” hosted an event yesterday to celebrate the grand opening of the Hannemann campaign headquarters in Kona.  Over a hundred supporters including elected officials, community leaders, and grassroots supporters attended the family-friendly celebration, which included lots of great food and entertainment from local favorite L.T. Smooth.  Mufi Hannemann attended the opening and gave a speech to supporters about his history of collaborating with neighbor island leaders.

“The overwhelming support I have received from the Big Island and each of the neighbor islands is deeply moving and enormously encouraging,” said Hannemann. “I am honored to have the support of so many who believe that I have the right temperament and understanding of county level issues to improve the quality of life for people across the state.”

Having lived and worked on the neighbor islands, Mufi Hannemann is maintaining a strong presence across the state, with campaign headquarters from Kauai to the Big Island including Lihue, Honolulu, Kahului, Hilo, and now Kona.  As governor, his administration will have the same approach of including every island in the decision making process.

The Hannemann campaign headquarters in Kailua-Kona is located at 75-5690 Kopiko Street, next to The Club on Palani Road.  The Kona headquarters can be reached at (808) 327-6834.

Hawaii Island celebrates the 4th of July

Hawaii Island for Mufi Hannemann was active this 4th of July weekend, participating in Independence Day parades across the island.

On July 2, an energetic group of Mufi supporters walked in the Ka‘u Independence Day Parade and Ho‘olaulea, stopping in at the Punalu‘u Bake Shop and Visitor Center, where Mufi worked as President and General Manager for several years.

On July 4 in Kailua-Kona, over 90 supporters dressed in the campaign’s signature red T-shirts walked alongside Mayor Hannemann as he greeted the crowds along the parade route.

On the same day, a smaller contingent walked in the Volcano Village Parade, waving signs and distributing bumper stickers and other materials.

Thank you to all of the members of Hawaii Island for Mufi who came out to show their support!
